7 Great Valentine’s Day Kids Books IMO
As parents, February rolls around, and we all know what’s on the docket in preparation for the 14th. I’m always genuinely impressed by some of the valentines my sons come home with every year. Some parents are, legit, on top of their game when putting together fun Valentine’s Day items. This year, I added mini-invisible pens with a built-in flashlight to the paper valentines and patted myself on the back for that. This shows you where I deserve to land on the impressive parents list. 7 Great Valentine’s Day Kids Books IMO
As Valentine’s Day inches closer, I think about different children’s Valentine’s books I can read to the boys in preparation for the chocolate overdose that will soon occur. We have staple characters in our house, so keep that in mind as I came up with these 7 books (in no particular order).
1. Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse – If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Dog a Donut are two books our kids enjoy, so we stumbled up Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse because of that. This book is a sweet look into different types of friendships and the different reasons why we love our friends.
2. Little Blue Truck’s Valentine – Little Blue Truck delivers valentines to all his friends, only to be surprised when he receives a Valentine’s Day surprise from his entire group of friends at the end.
3. Construction Site: You’re Just Right – The construction vehicles discover multiple types of valentines in different places as they all go about their daily work.
4. Grumpy Monkey Valentine Gross-Out – This book uses the same kind of humor all of the Grumpy Monkey books do. In this case, Jim Panzee calls love and Valentine’s Day “gross.” His friend Norman tries to shed some light on how it’s a wonderful holiday.
5. Guess How Much I Love You – An old-school, classic tearjerker about a parent and baby rabbit, arms stretched wide to showcase how much they love each other.
6. Love You Forever – This isn’t a tearjerker; it’s an all-out bawl fest. “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” Staaaahp it!
7. Llama Llama I Love You – We’ve notoriously been big fans of Llama Llama in our house, and this book is as beloved as the remainder of the collection.
